On today’s blog, we are featuring Ann Eastwick, a wedding officiant. She has been marrying couples since 2012.

How did you get into that industry? Lost my job as a paralegal during the housing recession and began using my notary to become a wedding officiant
What is the best part about your job? Seeing love, commitment and joy in my clients. Preparing customized ceremonies for my couples.
What do you see as a new wedding trend? Smaller, more intimate weddings
What trends are you ready for to go away? Huge bridal bouquets that look like table centerpieces
Any crazy stories you want to share? I had a bride that insisted on getting married even though her wedding had to be cancelled due to a hurricane. Although most businesses and offices had closed down, the wedding planner and I met the bride and her fiancé at a local hotel (that was taking in stranded travelers) so I could perform the ceremony for her. (A few weeks later we did the postponed wedding with her family and guests).
When we get out of quarantine, what is the first thing you are going to do? Meet up with my friends for a glass of wine at a favorite bar.

What is your favorite local restaurant? Sushi Palace, Gusto
Favorite mom & pop shop? Sushi Palace
Favorite place to get dessert? Trader Joes
What places do you like to visit in your downtime within an hour from Jacksonville? St. Simon’s
How about a day’s drive? Small towns outside of Orlando – Winter Garden, Winter Park, Clermont, Sanford
What is your favorite car of all time? The old Thunderbirds with the porthole windows
What is your favorite car color? Silver
What songs do you like to blast when you are driving around? Running on Empty, Motown Oldies
Anything else you want to add about anything? Just wishing everyone love, health and sanity in our “new world”.
